STOPPING IDENTITY THEFT
Identity theft is making its way into your neighborhood. It can happen to any of us.
The best thing to do is be aware and on the watch. PROTECT YOUR IDENTITY.
Identity thieves stalk their victims then strike without warning and go disappear with all they got.
It may take months before you realize you have been a victim. THEN, the painful journey of recovery can take possible years.
According to latest Government figures approximately. 750,000 victims a year loose their identity. And it is growing fast.
To help Protect yourself please do the following:
- Never print your Social Security Number or your Drivers License number on your checks.
- Never use your maiden name, your mothers maiden name, your birth date or the last 4 digits of your social security number as passwords-they are easiest to get and break the code.
- Shred all your junk mail that comes offering you a credit card or loan that is pre-approved and you recieved with your name on it.
- Photo copy all the important contents of your wallet. keep them at home in a safe place.
- NEVER carry your social security card, birth certificate or passport on you UNLESS it is deemed neccassary.
- NEVER give your personal information over the phone, through the mail or over the internet UNLESS you have alrready spoken to this person earlier.
If you become a victim file a complaint with the FTC.

Also contact the 3 major credit bureaus and report that your identity has been stolen. Ask that a FRAUD ALERT be
placed on your file and NO new credit be granted without your approval.
