    Sheriff Ronald L. Nichols

    Sheriff Ronald L. Nichols has dedicated his career to making Ross County a safer place in which to live, conduct business, and raise a family.
    He is a lifelong resident of Ross County.
    17 year Military Veteran, served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force.
    He has been in the Ross County Sheriff's Office since 1973. Is now serving his third elected term as Sheriff of Ross County.

      Since becoming Sheriff of Ross County, Sheriff Nichols has started many programs to help the citizens of Ross County make the quality of their life better. Sheriff Nichols has found ways to start these programs with grants and donations so not to add costs to our citizens. Some of the many programs are as follows.
    • Ross County TRIAD/S.A.L.T. Council-to improve lives of seniors with around 75 members
    • Project Guiding Light-approx. 8,000 lights given to the citizens of Ross County to provide a blinking light for medical emergency personal.
    • Ross County Juvenile Program-18 classes in the year 2004
    • Ross County Sheriff's Work Detail-saving over $1 million with Ross County Jail inmates working for over 140 locations such as township cemeteries mowing grass
