The Primary mission of the Emergency Response Team, or E.R.T., is to solve law enforcement situations that may be outside the realm of ordinary patrol officers. This is accomplished through the use of developed tactical skills and specialized equipment. Incidents in which the E.R.T. would respond include, but are not limited to, hostage situations, barricaded persons, snipers, high risk warrant apprehensions, civil disturbance, and narcotics raids.
