AARP Presents 55 Alive/Mature Driving Read about Ross County's Class ~ Click here!
55 ALIVE/Mature Driving is: Eight hours of classroom instruction that refines existing skills and develops safe, defense driving techniques. Produced by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) and conducted throughout the country in two half-day sessions, 55 ALIVE teaches preventive measures to use when driving that can help save lives. AARP believes strongly that the individual and the community can benefit from this course. There are NO tests.
We are: A nationwide network of trained volunteer Instructors, numbering in the thousands, who are concerned about safety on the road. AARP provides the program and course materials; AARP volunteers provide the instruction. It's an opportunity for volunteer Instructors to help their peers handle adverse driving conditions and traffic hazards, and learn about the affects of aging and medications on driving skills. There's more to the course than just the rules of the road, although they're covered as well.
